Detox Supercharger
Being health-conscious, most of our drinks are green and vegetable-based. But that doesn't mean we don't love a few glasses of fermented grape (or grain) juice as much as the next person!
If only there were a natural, effective way to prevent the unpleasant after-effects of overindulgence; something simple, without any unpronounceable ingredients. This thought motivated us to do some digging and conduct some tests. Guess what...it turns out that there is a way.

Hangover symptoms are simply the body's way of shouting at us for damaging our organs via toxic overload. Not fun to think about but true. Knowing this, we understand that there are two ways we can prevent the damage: by decreasing the toxic load or by increasing our ability to handle toxins. Assuming that on certain occasions a large toxic load is inevitable, we must look toward our second option.
The liver is our primary organ of detoxification and has the burden of chemically transmuting toxins into other substances that can be excreted safely. It does this job with amazing effectiveness and efficiency but, like a high-performance vehicle, it requires specific chemical components in order to function at all, and can go faster-stronger-longer if given a fuel that is optimized for the conditions of the challenge.
Enter chlorella.
Chlorella is a single-celled plant that is somewhere around 1 billion years old, packed with nutrients and powerful antioxidants. It is a powerful detoxifier all by itself but its micronutrient profile also makes it ideal fuel for a hard-working liver.
There are numerous reasons to add chlorella to your diet (think clearer skin, improved digestion, steady energy) but for what we are discussing, all you need to know is that ingesting 4-6 grams of chlorella (with a large glass of water) about 2 hours before consuming alcoholic drinks can diminish or eliminate hangover symptoms the following morning; we know, we've tested it at several weddings.
Wise folks have said it before and we agree: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Go forth and indulge intelligently.
